The Hot Party: Carpool Project

The Hot Party, a non-profit group in Madison, WI, wanted a Google Maps-based application that would assist in coordinating carpools for the employees of participating businesses.

Once users register through their workplace and log on to the Hot Party website, they are shown a color-coded map (see Map Key below).

All users that are shown on the map share a common workplace (shown in red). The logged in user's marker is yellow and his/her co-workers are color-coded based on their carpooling preference (drive, ride, either).

Clicking on a user's icon normally allows the user to send a Craigslist-esque secured message in order to inquire about a possible carpool. Messenging is disabled in this demo map.
